AMA Superbike - Pegram places 5th on Powerlet Equipped BMW S1000RR

Powerlet sponsored Superbike rider Larry Pegram places 5th and 7th at the West Coast Moto Jam held on May 13th-15th at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California

Sonoma, California — May 26, 2011 — Powerlet sponsored superbike rider Larry Pegram, of the Foremost Insurance/Pegram Racing team, rode his Powerlet Equipped factory BMW S1000RR AMA Superbike to two top 10 positions at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California. Tire issues clouded the outcome of the race, yet Pegram took 7th place on Saturday May 14th, and 5th place on Sunday May 15th. Sunday's race consisted of 22 laps resulting in a time of 35:43.492. Powerlet rider Larry Pegram finishes in a time of 28.125, good for 5th. The S100RR BMW effort placed three Superbikes in the top 10!

Luck was not in the cards this past week at Miller Motorsports Park as Pegram, while running 3rd, suffered mechanical problems and had to retire for the day. "We were unfortunate this week, with an easy gremlin bit us, but we will be ready for Road America."

Round 4 at Road America will run this weekend June 3 - 5 and is televised on Speed Jun 04 2011 9:00 PM ET.

Additionally, the worlds fastest AMA Flattrack took place this past weekend, at the Springfield Mile, and found Powerlet sponsored and Harley-Davidson XR-750 mounted Bryan Smith in the lead pack for 20 of the 25 lap main event, only to suffer from an engine breakdown that forced him to drop out of the race. Smith will also re-group and we will find him at the next scheduled 1/2 mile on June 11th in Hartford Ct.
