Powerlet To Release It's P5 and P15 Compliance Program At The 2012 Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo

Powerlet plans to announce a new program designed to standardize the electrical connections on powersports vehicles for the benefit of consumers, dealers, and manufacturers.

"This new compliance program will help consumers identify the safest way to power their electronics with products specifically designed for outdoor environments."
- Adam Bonislawski, VP Sales Coliant Corporation

Warren, Michigan — Feb 12, 2012 — Coliant Corporation, a provider of electrical solutions for the powersports industry, plans to introduce their new compliance program this weekend in Indianapolis. Driving an industry standard for electrical connectors on powersports vehicles, the Powerlet P5 and P15 Logo Program is designed to help consumers make easy purchasing decisions by identifying power outlets that have passed compatibility and reliability tests with the "Compatible with Powerlet 5A" or "Compatible with Powerlet 15A" compliance tests.

The new program will allow consumers to quickly identify which vehicle is capable of powering cell phones, GPS, and heated clothing. Consumers are not aware that it's both possible and easy to power their consumer electronics off of their powersport vehicle. Adam Bonislawski recently stated: "This new compliance program will help consumers identify the safest way to power their electronics with products specifically designed for outdoor environments." Currently six of the eleven major manufacturers are already using 'Compatible with' Powerlet connectors on vehicles. Standards can help limit OEM's legal liability by establishing best practices.

The Dealernews International Dealer Expo is the largest B2B powersports business event in North America and runs this weekend, Feb. 17-19 2012 in Indianapolis. The show is attended by dealers, distributors, and original equipment manufacturers from around the world.
